    Frequent questions

Is a bridge or an implant better?

The most conservative and most resembling option to a natural tooth is the implant. In the case of the bridge, we need to reduce the size of the teeth adjacent to the piece that you lost in order to place the bridge over them, so we need to eliminate healthy dental tissue.

At Centro Puy we will explain the advantages and limitations of each option for your particular case, so that you can make a well informed decision.

Will others notice that I have dental implants?

In most of the cases, no.

Implantology has been perfected a great deal since it began more than 30 years ago. There are also many studies and research done on this technique, which makes it one of the most reliable and effective methods to replace dental pieces in the long term without hardly noticing the change for others.

    Is it a complicated process?

    Not at all!

A previous CT scan is required to determine the type of implant suitable for each patient.

Approximately three to four months after the procedure, and once the osseointegration of the implant is secured, we place permanent crown.

Why are dental implants made of titanium?

Because it is a light element and at the same time hard.

But above all, because titanium has a high level of biocompatibility, achieving optimal osseointegration and minimizing the chances of being rejected by the human body.

That is, with titanium we guarantee that the implant is perfectly integrated inside your bone.

Is an implant the same as a crown?

No. The implant is the piece of titanium that is inserted into the jawbone to replace the lost root of one or more of our dental pieces.

The crown is one of the possible visible finishes that are placed on the implant.
