Is it normal for me to have an x-ray of the whole mouth on the first visit?
Orthopantomography or panoramic radiography is a type of extraoral x-ray (taken from outside the mouth) that allows accurate planning of a large number of dental treatments.
The ortho or OPG (as we usually call it) allows us to obtain radiographic data on your teeth, your jaws, the maxillary sinuses and the jaw joint.
This information is very valuable, both in the prevention of certain pathologies and in the planning of treatments.
